Online AR/VR  Immersive Learning Environment Developed with The New School Reality Center

Objective was to deliver Graphic Design History class content in a virtual space and hold group sessions in that space.
Created art for environments and virtual narratives. Developed experiences and 3D exhibitions gallery spaces to create and showcase student projects and course work for internal and external audiences.

This course is used as a course design benchmark in New School Online Faculty Training

An AR immersive space for this  course was also developed.

Type Talk lectures series for courses to reach out and include diverse and underrepresented topics and demographics. Speakers are professionals in design and typography.

Tipoteca Italy – Sandro Berra
A live discussion with Sandro Berrra, of Tipoteca Italiana, a private foundation/working printing museum, (Veneto Region of Italy).
Tipoteca holds one of the largest European collections of metal & wood type, casting & printing machines.

 

City University of New York Open Educational Resources  (OER) Fellowship Program

Development of stand-alone online OER asynchronous typography course.

Communication Design Department

Developed online course content as a zero-textbook cost (ZTC) designated courses. This stand alone course includes materials provided at no cost, online lesson plans, homework, content and sources drawn for design field. My goal has been working to achieve equity through employment of OER “No fee” courses.This site was developed utilizing City Tech’s OpenLab initiative, a WordPress interface.

 

Model Course Design Learning Initiative Program

Development of online course template for Typography Type and Media.

This initiative provided professional development support for faculty creating openly available, fully developed instructional resources to share with faculty.

Model Course Goals:
• To provide students access to high-quality course content for a unified approach to distance, hybrid, and in-person teaching.
• To ensure continuity of curriculum in the event of future disruptions to in-person learning.
• To lower barriers to entry for faculty with less experience with technology and digital pedagogy.
• To reduce redundant work for Course Coordinators and teaching faculty.
• To verify that the online and hybrid learning experience is in compliance with the College’s credit hour policy

 

 

Parsons/ The New School – Development of Asynchronous Graphic Design 2 Course

Recorded video lectures, demonstrations as well comprehensive course PDF and Canvas module materials. Critiques were delivered in a weekly video format.

Objectives
•  Develop graphic design fundamentals, including Image making, typography, and composition
•  Develop an understanding of the design process from research experimentation concept to execution
• Conceptualize solutions across print and digital
• Utilize the grid as the foundation for design
•  Understand how to effectively use typography
•  Design and present successfully within specific requirements and parameters.
